AirStream Promotes Sustainability with eSTREAM Travel Trailer Concept
Sooner or later it had to happen. As we pointed out earlier, the current direction of the automotive industry is driving electrification. Eventually, anything to do with it will follow. For digital nomads, Airstream is ready to meet your needs with the eSTREAM Travel Trailer concept. Considering he’s been in the business for years, expect the best.
Polls show that most car owners are eager to switch to electric vehicles. The demand for all-electric alternatives to our favorite platforms tells us that manufacturers have no choice but to adapt. It’s great of Airstream to finally recognize the push for sustainability with the upcoming eSTREAM travel trailer.
First of all, we like how the company tries to maintain the signature aesthetic of its caravans. It’s cool of them to keep the classic presentation of the exterior with the unpainted aluminum alloy sheets and rivets. If not for badges and LED light strips on various surfaces, it can easily pass for any of their usual RV trailers.
However, they are not alone in this endeavor as eSTREAM is a joint project with Thor Industries. Using the latter’s proprietary modular electric mobility systems, it enables smart home technology capabilities and more.
Although owners still need to tow it with their SUV or pickup truck, it improves mileage and fuel efficiency. It does this with an integrated electric transmission. With the companion app, owners can remotely position the camping trailer by themselves. The eSTREAM also supports Alexa and comes with other handy smart features.
